A common question that I am asked when brides and grooms are preparing for their special day is about what to bring for detail shots. Detail shots are simply photos of items of significance to you on your wedding day. Many times, these photos include an invitation suite, wedding rings, and florals and are creatively arranged by me! Wedding details are not for everyone, and we are making our plans for the day we can decide together if you’d like these photographs included in your final wedding gallery. Detail shots look different for everyone, as they should, since every wedding is unique. Below, I have included a list of typical bride + groom detail items. This isn’t an all-inclusive list, but should give you an idea of the items to have ready at the start of your wedding day.

What you can expect from me
Here’s a few things you can expect from me regarding detail shots:
- This is the first thing that I’ll do when I arrive for your wedding day. Typically, you’ll need some of these items to get ready so it’s best that the photos are completed and items are returned well before you are ready for them.
- I bring my own styling box and flat lay mats! My styling box includes ribbons with various colors and material, scrolls, stamps, ring boxes, jewelry dishes, and much more. If you provide the items you’d like photographed, I’ll worry about the creative aspect of the photos arranged with design elements that I’ve hand-picked.
I personally love detail shots because they showcase the important items on your day. These items are chosen for a reason, and these photos are a beautiful way to tell the complete story on your wedding day.
